Express Entry

Immigration to Canada had outreached many migrants, through the Express Entry system (EE) introduced by the Government of Canada, in the year 2015. Since then thousands of migrants have crossed the borders of Canada, together with their family members. The Express Entry system allow potential candidates to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada under three categories;

  • 1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
  • 2. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)
  • 3. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Express entry programs allow candidates to create the profile and submit their documents online. In order to enter into Express Entry, applicants should qualify for at least one of the above mentioned programs which has different eligibility criteria.

Step #1

Potential candidates will complete an online Express Entry profile where they will provide information about their skills, work experience, language competency, education and other details. Those who meet the criteria of one of the federal economic immigration programs under which the Express Entry system operates, will be placed in a pool of candidates.

Candidates will be ranked against others in the pool. Only the highest-ranked candidates (those deemed to have the best chances for economic success) and those with qualifying offers of arranged employment or provincial/territorial nominations, will be invited to apply for permanent residence.

If a candidate does not already have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer or a provincial/territorial nomination, he or she must register with the Government of Canada's Job Bank which will connect him or her with eligible Canadian employers.

Where applicable, employers are required to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment from the Employment and Social Development of Canada. There will be no fee for Labour Market Impact Assessments for Permanent Residence applicants, under the Express Entry system.

Completing an online Express Entry profile does not guarantee that a candidate will receive an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence.

Step #2

Citizenship and Immigration Canada will invite certain candidates to apply for Permanent Residence and process their electronic applications within six months. Candidates will receive an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence if they rank amongst the top scored Candidates in the pool, based on their skills and experience. Candidates who have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer (subject to the Labour Market Impact Assessment process in place at that time) or have been nominated by a Province or Territory will be given high scores in the ranking system.

Provincial Nominee Program

Provincial Nominations Program (PNP) is one of the ways through which a foreign citizen may apply for Permanent Residency in Canada. Through the Provincial Nominations Program, skilled workers who wish to live in a particular Province, except for the Province of Quebec, are given opportunities to contribute for the betterment of the selected Province. However, the streams under which Applicants are admitted to each Province vary.

In this procedure, a Province/Territory shall nominate an Applicant, granting him/her the opportunity to live and contribute to the selective Province/Territory of the applicant's choice. The PNP program also includes an International Graduate Category where, students who have work experience of at least two years, can apply under this program.

However, your case has to be strong and all of this needs to be supervised by an expert in visa processing.

The expertise at Ardent includes providing insights and analysis on whether your profile best fit to become eligible under the PNP scheme. In the event your profile best fit the PNP scheme, we guarantee our best efforts, services and guidance to help you proceed further with the process.

Also, Ardent consider it our duty to make you well aware about all the rules and regulations required to mark your entry in Canada.

Family Sponsorships

As a nation committed to family reunification and keeping loved ones together, Canada offers a number of immigration programs that give Canadian citizens and permanent residents the opportunity to sponsor their family members to arrive and settle in Canada. Family reunification remains one of the pillars of the Canadian immigration system and there are several categories under which you can sponsor your family members such as:

  • 1. Spouse, Common-law partner, Conjugal partner
  • 2. Dependent children
  • 3. Parents and grandparents (related by blood or adoption)
  • 4. Other and orphan relatives

It should be noted that, it is not as simple as people believe, in succeeding in family reunification applications, even if you are a permanent resident or Canadian citizen, due to the reason that during the legal procedure of processing applications, one trivial mistake may cost you a lot in terms of money and time, while it may also give rise to family conflicts. Also, the family members may not be able to re-submit an application for a specified time period.

Hence, advise, guidance and support of an Immigration Consultant in submitting your application under the Family Sponsorships category could enhance your chances of unifying with your family members, without any unwanted concerns relating to the application.
